Serving the Community
The Valley Mission is a Christian non-profit organization in Staunton working to offer shelter, food, and support to those who are homeless or suffer from low-income. We support Valley Mission by preparing and serving meals for our friends who are residents there as well as by collecting needed items.
Cardinal House is an assisted living group home in Waynesboro. Mt. Horeb seeks to share joy and love with the residents of Cardinal House by visiting them to share in games, snacks, and fellowship. These visits take place several times during the year through the leadership of the Presbyterian Women.
Backpack Food Program. In cooperation with other area groups, Mt. Horeb provides South River Elementary School students with backpacks with food for the weekend throughout the school year. They get easy-to-prepare food along with fresh fruit to help them get through the weekends. Church members place bags of food in backpacks for children to pick up on Friday afternoons. They also provide other items to help meet seasonal needs throughout the year
