Disciples Kitchen Disciples Kitchen is a soup kitchen program located at the Second Presbyterian Church in Waynesboro. A number of churches and other local groups provide meals-to-go now since the pandemic for those who are homeless or otherwise in need of food. Mt. Horeb provides meals 8-10 times a year through the leadership of the Presbyterian Women. Backpack Food Program. In cooperation with other area groups, Mt. Horeb provides South River Elementary School students with backpacks with food for the weekend throughout the school year. They get easy-to-prepare food along with fresh fruit to help them get through the weekends. Church members place bags of food in backpacks for children to pick up on Friday afternoons. They also provide other items to help meet seasonal needs throughout the year. |
